About VIVA ExCon Dasun Bacolod x Orange Project
Orange Project’s mission is both simple and complex. It is art with no fear. And fun.
It started as a collaborative undertaking between visual artist Charlie Co and businessman-artist Victor Benjamin Lopue, lll.
Phase 1 is May 27, 2005. Gallery Orange in the bridge of love. The first professionally run gallery, exclusively dedicated to the creative requirements primarily of the visual arts, and by association other forms of art, in Negros. The second and third level of the Orange Hall at the Lopue’s Mandalagan Annex became its birthing space. It had 3 main galleries, Gallery A for changing exhibitions, Gallery B for installation art, and Gallery C for gallery curated exhibitions; as well as a hallway for small works.
Phase 2 is July 8, 2014. Gallery Orange moved to the heart of the complex in a much bigger space that became a highly flexible exhibition venue which accommodated large works and major productions. Door 9A & 10A of 2/F Art District Main Building became a venue that addressed the needs of the local artist community for constant exposure, dialogues & forums, performances, artist talks and most especially for the discipline and credibility facilitated by curated exhibitions. It welcomed both Filipino and visiting foreign artists.
Phase 3 is November 20, 2018. Orange Project marks the move to a two level building constructed to be the testament to the vibrant and evolving art movement that it embodies. Orange Project continues to be host and witness to visual art exhibitions spanning a large diversity of media to include wall work, sculpture, multi media installation, performance art, conceptual art, textile art, political art and other forms of creative expression.
