About BOSTON ART GALLERY
BOSTON ART GALLERY was founded in 1993, by Dr. Joven R. Cuanang, as response to the need of a space for young emerging contemporary Filipino artists, in the aftermath of Edsa Revolution 0f 1986. Initially, it started as a venue for the Salingpusa group of artists who started as muralists, who then ventured individually to show their ouevre of figurative expressionism. Their subjects consisted of biting and stark commentaries of the prevailing sociopolitical condition of the country as well as poignant depiction of everyday Filipino. The gallery continues its mission of hosting emerging artists oftentimes fresh from the art schools, and nurtures them to their best potential through the years. After more than two decades of exciting shows it continues to cultivate its original vision of providing a platform for the young talented Filipino artists. The Gallery is proud to have given the break to many artists who are now renowned not only in the Philippines but the rest of Asia and the world.
